As We Live and Breathe - Mindful Cafe

As part of Natalie’s new project, As We Live and Breathe

Our Mindful Café evenings are a monthly opportunity to start or develop your mindfulness practice within the local community and to explore and discuss themes that impact all our lives. There is time for guidance, time for silence and room for lively debate.

Mindfulness helps us to really connect with life in a deep way, to see it clearly for what is. In addition to being a stress reduction tool, it is a way of waking up to the truth within our hearts, to our innate tenderness, kindness, strength, fragility and power. In this way we step into becoming fuller, truer versions of ourselves.

At the heart of mindfulness teachings is the recognition that we are all interconnected, and that our interdependence extends out towards all aspects of the natural and man-made world. Our sessions are held at conscious, eco-aware venues to reinforce and promote this ethos.

Whether you’re new to mindfulness or meditation practices or whether you’ve been practicing for a long time, you will be most welcome.

This event is offered on a donation basis. All proceeds go towards carbon offsetting .

Theme: Making contact with our lives

In this session we’ll explore ways we can find a greater sense of connection. In our digital age it’s easy to become disconnected from as sense of fully inhabiting our bodies, being fully present in our relationships, and from nature. We’ll explore how to reconnect via guided meditations, discussion and playful investigation.

In high summer there’s a natural slowing down and we are able to tune into a sense of abundance. We’ll take advantage of this time to explore how finding greater stillness can create a sense of deeper satisfaction and joy in our lives.

Mindful Supper Club - As We Live and Breathe

ENJOY A DELICIOUS, NOURISHING MINDFUL MOVEMENT, MEDITATION AND MEAL

In the midst of our fast-paced city lifestyles it can be challenging to stay connected to reality. When we’re on autopilot it’s easy to miss out on the earthy joys of feeling like we’re fully inhabiting our bodies, of meaningful communion with like-minded others, and of fully tasting and appreciating the deliciousness inherent within each moment. It’s easy to lose touch with the sacredness of the every day.

Like yoga and mindfulness, good cooking is all about connection. As we move and dine together we relax into a way of being that promotes restoration of the body towards it’s full strength, facilitates synthesis of new ideas, inspiration and feelings of empathy, and that generates a life-affirming sense of presence in the world as we blur the boundaries between sun and soil, food, taste, and regeneration. We find a deep sense of nourishment and rootedness in our lives.

Join us in a celebration of being to lift your week and elevate your sense of the specialness of life. We start with a grounding, sensuous yoga-based movement session and guided mindfulness-based meditation led by Wellness Guru Natalie Morrison followed by a conscious, loving meal of expertly-crafted vegetarian dishes created by the talented Chef Paola Carlini.
