Mindful Cafe: Authenticity

As part of As We Live and Breathe

Theme: Authenticity

In this session we’ll explore how connecting in with how we feel can help us live in a more spontaneous and creative way, and how this can open up space for more satisfaction and meaning in our lives.

Our Mindful Café evenings are a monthly opportunity to start or develop your mindfulness practice within the local community and to explore and discuss themes that impact all our lives. There is time for guidance, time for silence and room for lively debate.

Mindfulness helps us to really connect with life in a deep way, to see it clearly for what is. In addition to being a stress reduction tool, it is a way of waking up to the truth within our hearts, to our innate tenderness, kindness, strength, fragility and power. In this way we step into becoming fuller, truer versions of ourselves.

At the heart of mindfulness teachings is the recognition that we are all interconnected, and that our interdependence extends out towards all aspects of the natural and man-made world. Our sessions are held at conscious, eco-aware venues to reinforce and promote this ethos.

Whether you’re new to mindfulness or meditation practices or whether you’ve been practicing for a long time, you will be most welcome.

This event is offered on a donation basis. All proceeds go towards carbon offsetting .

Mindful Supper Club - As We Live and Breathe

ENJOY A DELICIOUS, NOURISHING MINDFUL MOVEMENT, MEDITATION AND MEAL

In the midst of our fast-paced city lifestyles it can be challenging to stay connected to reality. When we’re on autopilot it’s easy to miss out on the earthy joys of feeling like we’re fully inhabiting our bodies, of meaningful communion with like-minded others, and of fully tasting and appreciating the deliciousness inherent within each moment. It’s easy to lose touch with the sacredness of the every day.

Like yoga and mindfulness, good cooking is all about connection. As we move and dine together we relax into a way of being that promotes restoration of the body towards it’s full strength, facilitates synthesis of new ideas, inspiration and feelings of empathy, and that generates a life-affirming sense of presence in the world as we blur the boundaries between sun and soil, food, taste, and regeneration. We find a deep sense of nourishment and rootedness in our lives.

Join us in a celebration of being to lift your week and elevate your sense of the specialness of life. We start with a grounding, sensuous yoga-based movement session and guided mindfulness-based meditation led by Wellness Guru Natalie Morrison followed by a conscious, loving meal of expertly-crafted vegetarian dishes created by the talented Chef Paola Carlini.

Lost Village Festival

Lost Village Festival

Take a journey into the nature of our perception and our relationship to the external world. As we delve into how we perceive visible forms, sound, scent, flavours, touch and mental objects we come to see ourselves in a more freer relationship to space and time than we have become accustomed to. We sense our profound interconnectivity with all that can be perceived.

Depending on the duration of the slots, after a 10 minute introduction participants will be guided through a 30 minute during which different sounds, aromatherapy essences, physical sensations, vision and awareness of thinking will all play a part. The content will be informed by Buddhist psychology and the latest neuroscience on emotion, and if there’s time at the end we could further consider some of that.

Not your average meditation class, Mind House blends ancient practices with a modern ethos and playful approach. We host guided group meditations that are simple, but potent; serious, but fun. This evening's class is located in central London at the exclusive members' club – LIBRARY in Covent Garden. A hub for creativity, the LIBRARY is well known for its innovative programmes, and is welcoming members (and a few non-members) to experience their hidden urban sanctuary.

The class will consist of a brief talk on meditation/mindfulness and seating postures, to be followed by a guided 30-minute group meditation. We will explore various meditation practices, blending together different techniques in one class (in the signature Mind House style) so that they are accessible, rewarding, and sustainable.

This session is perfect for those that want to learn a new practice or refresh an exisiting one! So come round, sit down, relax, and #MindTheHead.

What to expect:

7:00pm - Doors open.
7:05pm - Doors closes and meditation/talk begins.
7:40pm - Meditation ends. Hang out for a casual Q&A.
7:45pm - Event ends.

Various chairs will be available, and are first come, first served.
