#yogasutrachallenge Book II Sutra 9 – Even the wisest among us excessively cling to life/fear death Survival is an instinct that lies at heart of every living being. Without that instinct we wouldn’t even exist, life on earth would have died out millennia ago. Yet here, Patanjali suggests that our excessive clinging to this particular life we’re currently inhabiting is a mental affliction that obscures our view of the truth, and prevents us from reaching enlightenment, from ultimately liberating the soul. I guess if you can truly believe the soul is eternal, then this one lifetime is just a drop in the ocean. Each lifetime successively is a single lesson and an opportunity to gain credit towards ultimately “graduating” to become a liberated soul – free from the confines of the physical world, basking in eternal bliss. With that belief in place, you can make the most of this lifetime – making sure you learn the lessons the Universe is offering and generating positive karma. In this world where we place so much pressure on ourselves it may also bring a sense of peace and ease that you will get another chance if not everything depends on this lifetime. #eastlondonyoga #natalieyoga #londonfields #survival #peace #freeyourmind #freeyourspirit
