Day 38 of #yogasutrachallenge: YS 1.38 Svapnanidrajnanalambanam va: Or we can find self-realisation by dwelling on our dreams and the peace of deep sleep So often we hear we should follow our dreams, yet we don’t really take it literally. Here, that’s exactly what Patanjali’s saying. Remember your dreams, and dwell on them. Think about the details of those dreams and keep them with you. Your dreams are a door to other states of the mind which are closer to the soul. The soul, smothered by consciousness, speaks through our dreams. It tells us of its needs, of the ways we can help it to shine through. The trick is to learn the language – a code of symbols and representations that are processed by the ancient parts of the mind. And when we pass into deep sleep, we find complete stillness, a stillness that lingers in those moments before we are fully awake. Those moments teach us of peace, and by meditating on that sense of peace, we can find it again in full consciousness. Eventually drifting into the blissful state of enlightenment.
