Day 22 of #yogasutrachallenge: YS 1.22 Mrdu madhyadhiatratvat tato’ pi visesah My interpretation: The intensity of you practice can be mild, moderate, or extreme This is a nice simple sutra, if a little dull compared to some. Patanjali has already explained that the more intensely you apply yourself, the quicker enlightenment will come. Indic knowledge systems are really big on categorising and subcategorising things. There are a total of 9 categories of intensity which can be applied: mild, moderate and intense, and mild moderate and intense which each of these. So you could be a mildly mild practitioner e.g. going a few times a year, or an intensely intense practitioner (barely resting), or any of the 7 categories in between. Where would you place yourself in terms of your yoga practice?
