Natalie Morrison is one of London’s leading modern mindfulness and meditation teachers, a yoga and movement teacher, environmentalist, and a seeker in trying to understand how to apply these disciplines to the challenges of our modern times.
As a graduate in Philosophy and Economics, and having previously led a fast-paced, successful career in digital strategy, she translates understanding of spiritual practices, social mechanisms and scientific insights into practical guidance that’s relevant to today and tomorrow’s world.
Natalie’s teaching approach blends ancient and contemporary practices that cultivate our vitality, mental and physical awareness and our connection with the world. By honing our ability to slow down our pace and find a sense of stillness and presence, and by developing our sense of what's possible through energizing and strengthening movement practices, Natalie's teaching inspires a gradual awakening of, and shift towards, the fullness of our potential. She teaches to a loyal following of students and clients at studios, workplaces, private homes and other venues across London and internationally.
Natalie's interest in mind, body, spirit and our place in the world started in her teens. She found through a combination of yoga, and reading introductory Buddhist, philosophical and yogic texts that she was able to find a sense of grounding and direction at this difficult age. Inspired, she moved to London to study Philosophy and Economics at the LSE.
In her twenties she developed a successful career in media, advertising and technology as a Program Manager but increasingly began to feel she had lost direction and the sense of satisfaction which comes with doing what you love and are passionate about. Dusting off her yoga and meditation practice felt like returning home. In this space she could reconcile her innate thirst for meaning with an embracing of meaninglessness.
She trained as yoga teacher in 2014 and started teaching all over London. Her dedication to serving others by promoting well-being deepened in the process. It was so rewarding. Recognising that well-being comes from all aspects of one's life, she broadened her training to include teaching meditation to others, NLP / life coaching, nutrition and health coaching, Personal Training, and pilates along with continued yoga teacher training in order to offer a richer and more integrated approach to mental and physical well-being.
As her spiritual practice developed, she also discovered a calling back to her studies in understanding the mechanisms behind how our society operates. The cognitive dissonance she experiences at the suffering of humans, plants and animals around the world induced by the lifestyle she is also part of fueling her quest to infuse her teachings with ways each of us can navigate this rough terrain on our own terms.
Natalie now teaches yoga, pilates and mindfulness at many studios and venues across London and coach and train a wide variety of private clients to develop their well-being. She hosts events, workshops and retreats around the UK and internationally. She also writes for several publications on wellness-related topics, including Yogi Times and Balance Garden.
